LOC #106 - nothing square

Time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges! This week our theme is "nothing square" and our sponsor is Kristy.

I decided to create in my mini journal and interpreted the theme a little differently.

My images are from Stampotique and I've colored them with pencil. I cut them out and added to my journal. The background was first gesso'ed for texture and then sprayed with a few glimmer mist sprays. Once that was all dry I doodled around the edge and added some dots here and there.

Please stop by the LOC challenge blog to check out all the DT makes and link up your entry to the challenge. I can't wait to see what you make!

LOC #98 - monsters

It's time for another fun challenge at Left of Center Challenges!

Our amazing sponsor this week is Ike's Art.

Did you know that in addition to her fabulous shop
Ike also has a challenge blog and has an Ike's Art Fan Page on FaceBook.

For my LOC DT creation I have used Ike's "Children of the Night" and made a set of ATCs.

After printing out the images I sponged on Citrus Lime ink. I was going for the splotchy look :)
I colored in their nails with pencil and their teeth with a white gel pen. The design paper is from an older Halloween pack and I mounted that on black CS and added some washi tape to each ATC.

I thought these precious children were a perfect way to start off the month of October.

Now head on over to the LOC blog to check out what the DT has made for your viewing pleasure.  We would love to see your monster creations this week.

For my project I have created a fun little ATC using A Time to Share from All Dressed Up.

I used a TH stencil and sponged my color onto the ATC and then swiped the edges on an orange inkpad.  The image I colored with pencils and fussy cut out to add to my ATC base with foam tape.

I can't wait to see what you create, join us over at LOC to see all the fabulous makes from the DT.

LOC #88 - use textrue

This week's challenge over at Left of Center Challenges is to use texture!  and our wonderful vendor this week is Rosey Hearts.  I've made a journal page using Voodoo.

I started by covering the page with gesso and once dry I spritzed the page with a few different colors sprays from my collection.  I colored the image with pencils and used Perlen Pens in copper and creme to add texture to her headdress. Once everything was dry I fussy cut her out and added to her to the page. Oh and I added a bit of stamping up at the top of the page as well.

Here's a close up so you can also see the texture in the gesso and the metallic Perlen pens.  I also used a whie gel pen on the skulls but that doesn't show up a well in the photos.

Jump on over to the LOC challenge blog to see what wonderful creations the DT has made and don't forget to play along. We all love to see what you share with us.

I've colored her with pencils and fussy cut her out to add to my mini journal.  The background is inked up with a TH lace stencil and my sentiment is from Unity Stamps.  As you can probably tell I didn't win with my lace, flowers and ink at tic tac toe, but it sure was fun anyway!

LOC # 84 - ink it up

Time for another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges. This week our sponsor is
SLS Lines, you have to go check out all the amazing images they have!

I got to play with Goth Girl with Fish Balloon.

I colored her with pencils and fussy cut her out to add to my journal page. Since our theme this week is "ink it up" that's exactly what I did. A while back I had cleaned off a stencil on this page so I already had the black in down. Then I sponged some ink thru a couple stencils in the blue and orange. Then I went crazy and swiped the ink pad in bubblegum and watermelon right on the page. So much fun.  I love the bright color mix.  Then I added my funky goth girl and voila!

LOC # 80 - Upcycle / Recycle

Hey there, thanks for stopping by!  It's time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.   This weeks theme is upcycle / recycle. I have used some recycled items to make the background for my card.  First I used part of an old cardboard box and pulled off a layer to expose the ridges inside.  I smeared some paint on them and then used it to "stamp" the lines on my card.  I also used some bubble wrap I had laying around and dipped it in white paint to also add to my background.

My image is Tessy Twitcher from Oddball Art Stamps by Lizzy Love. She also came with the two little bats off to the right.  I've colored her with pencils, fussy cut her out and added her to my card.  I'm really happy with my background.  If only I knew how much fun it was to find things to use before I bought all those background stamps :)

What are you waiting for, head over to LOC to see what the DT has created and join in the fun and show us your projects!

This weeks sponsor is the fun and fabulous Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  They have a wide variety of images, perfect for all your crafty creations!  For my mini-jounal page I have used Skelekidz Girl.

I've colored her with pencils and fussy cut her out to add to my journal page. I gesso'ed my pages and then sprayed with Dylusions ink spray in Bubblegum and Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Cornflower Daze.  The ink looked a little to uniform so I took the still wet pages and gently smooshed them together.  I love how fun and bright it turned out.

LOC #74 - tag or ATC

Hello Friends! This week's challenge over at Left of Center Challenges is to create a tag or ATC.  Of your you may always do anything goes as long as your item fits one of the LOC categories.

Our sponsor this week is Smeared Ink.  I've used one of the images from Danse Macabre which is an unmouted rubber set.

I started with a piece of chipboard and cut the two top corners off to make it a tag shape.  Next I covered it with white gesso.  I made sure to leave lots of texture.  Once that was dry I sprayed black spray over the Tim Holtz Cargo stencil.  Then I sprayed some blue and then green and then a more brighter blue.  I actually put my sprays away already but if you would like to know the actual colors leave me a message and I will let you know.  I stamped my dancing skeleton in black ink on white CS and fussy cut it out then attached to the tag.  I know the tag looks a little plain but I'm so in love with how the background turned out I didn't want to cover it up :)

What are you waiting for?!? Head over to LOC to see what amazing creations the DT have made and join in the fun.
