LOC #106 - nothing square

Time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges! This week our theme is "nothing square" and our sponsor is Kristy.

I decided to create in my mini journal and interpreted the theme a little differently.

My images are from Stampotique and I've colored them with pencil. I cut them out and added to my journal. The background was first gesso'ed for texture and then sprayed with a few glimmer mist sprays. Once that was all dry I doodled around the edge and added some dots here and there.

Please stop by the LOC challenge blog to check out all the DT makes and link up your entry to the challenge. I can't wait to see what you make!

Super Freak

This week's challenge over at Haunted Design House is "Chic Freaks" and it's being sponsored by Stampotique Originals. I love love love their images especially those by Daniel Torrente.

So I have used one of his images "Glimmering Hope" for this challenge. I think she's rather chic in a freaky kinda way. And as soon as I read the challenge Super Freak by Rick James popped into my head :) I know my mind works in mysterious ways.... Anywho I've created a journal page with my chic freak stamped in black stazon then made the background with water color crayons. I went bright since it's a bright beautiful day here. Then I added some metallic dots around the edge and outlined her dress and bow. I've also included some lyrics from Super Freak so now you all can have it going thru your head just like me.
Thanks for stopping by!

SDC25: Faux Barnwood Technique

For this Stampotique Designers Challenge they wanted us to use the Faux Barnwood Technique or another technique from Technique Junkies.

For my card I started with the color plum for my base coat then orchid for the top. I stamped Glimmering Hope in black in then colored with pencils and cut her out. I also used a purple gel pen to help set off some of the lines in her dress and outline her bow and star. I punched 3 small flowers from some text pages then added a pink gem in the middle of each. I dont know if it was because I was drying it or because it was on cardstock but the crackles turned out smaller then my first attempt that I did in my journal so they are not as noticeable unless it's in your hands, but I still liked the way it turned out and this is a super easy and fun technique.

I added some ribbons and wrote "I feel pretty" because that's the song that's always in my head when I use this stamp :)
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to check out the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog because the design team has some awesome samples with this technique.

orange & turquoise

Well I'm about a week late for the orange and turquoise challenge over on the stampotique designers challenge blog, but I wanted to finish it anyway to add to my slowly growing altered rolodex card collection. There is a new challenge going on (love/valentine) as well as a couple they are hosting for other sites so I encourage you to go over there and check it out.
