LOC # 30 - Spring Fling

Hello my friends! This week at Left of Center Challenges we are celebrating Spring with the theme 'Spring Fling'.  I was lucky enough to get to play with this image from Delicious Doodles, our sponsor for this challenge.

This is Fairy Fae, isn't she lovely. I've colored her and her butterfly friends with pencils and then added a bit of glitter to their wings. I think Spring is my favorite season, however here in Arizona it only lasts about a week. We are already hitting the 90's here and it's only April!
I can't wait to see your beautiful springtime creations, make sure to join in the fun with us at LOC. We have fabulous sponsors and prizes for every challenge.

LOC #29 - Anything Goes - Dark Themed

Hello my crafty friends! It's time for a new challenge at Left of Center Challenges, the theme this time around is 'Anything Goes' however it must be dark. I have made an ATC with this lovely back-bend toxic ballerina from Smeared Ink.

I have colored her with pencils and cut her out and attached with foam tape to my ATC base. I made the flower from old book pages and then spritzed with a couple different shades of glimmer mist. I attached a skull bead to a hat pin so it could pierce my dancers heart.  I'd say that qualifies as dark :)
For some reason as I was coloring my ballerina it reminded me of a book I read last year, Swan Song. There was no ballerina so it must be the face mask that set my mind a wandering as I colored. The story is similar to The Stand by Stephen King so if you liked that one you'll get drawn into this one too.
Now head on over to Left of Center Challenges and let your dark side loose and create some spectacular and share it with us at Left of Center

PunkYouGirl - Lavish Lace

Hello Friends! I'm so excited to share the news that I've joined the PunkYouGirl DT! This is my first post as a member of the design team and our theme for the challenge is 'lavish lace', we want to see you use some lace on your creations. Our sponsor for this challenge is Stitchy Bear. They have so many different stamps to choose from you have to hop of over to check them out.
For my first contribution on the DT I have used La Llorona (The Weeping Woman).

The image is so amazingly shaded I just barely added a bit of color to it using colored pencils. I started with a white CS base and used the Tim Holtz Doily tag stencil and black soot distress ink to create my lace background.  I used a new die cut I just got a few weeks ago when a stamp convention came to town (so much fun!) and at the moment I can't remember who it's from. But I used it to cut out 2 pieces of white CS and used the same black soot distress ink to color it up and added it across the front of my card.
You should see the wonderful creations that the DT have come up with. Head on over to the PunkYouGirl Challenge Blog and then find some lace in your stash and join in on the fun.
