LOC Challenge #11

Welcome back my stamping friends! It's time for another challenge over at Left of Center Challenges this week.  Our sponsor this time around is the amazing Rick St. Dennis.  I grabbed this cute little freebie from his blog Sparkle and Glitter. Since our theme over at LOC is Christmas/Winter in July I turned this "Summer Fairy" into a Christmas Fairy.

I colored her with pencils and cut her out. I stamped some stars on my card and then popped her on top with some foam tape. I will also be adding this to his July Freebie Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, please visit LOC for fabulous samples from the DT using Rick's St. Dennis images and check out his Etsy store and his blogs, Sparkle and Glitter and  Airless Chambers.

LOC Challenge #10

Time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges. The theme this time around is to use polka dots and/or stripes. Or as always you can create something left of center and don't have to follow the theme.  Check out the blog or ask me if you have questions :)
Our fab sponsor this week is Limited Runs. I have several of her images and chose to use this Eyeball Cupcake from my stash.

I colored with pencils then fussy cut my cupcake out. I used a round CS base and sponged some color on.  I didn't feel like digging through my stash for a dot stamp so I used a pencil eraser :) This created my polka dots.  I used foam tape to pop my cupcake off the cake and taadaa.... a super cute cupcake card ;)

Now head on over to LOC to join in the fun and check out the awesome samples from the DT.

Summer the Fairy

It's time for another Simply Betty Stamps Facebook Fan Page Challenge.  This month we were asked to use Summer the Fairy and to create our own background.

I started with a round CS base and sponged, distressed and stamped to make my background. I colored her with pencils and added some glitter to her wings and dress.

Thanks for stopping by!

LOC Challenge #9

Hello my crafty friends!

It's time for another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges. Our sponsor this time around is Ike's Art.  She's has an amazing variety of images so I encourage you to check out her store and her blog.  I made a card with an old image of her's that I got ages ago as a Friday Freebie. I've had her colored up for a while now and figured it was the perfect time to add her to a card.

I colored with pencils and used gel pen for some accents.  The theme for this weeks challenge is to have a sentiment on the front so I've used some other stamps from my CTMH stash to complete my card.

Also happening over at LOC is a DT Call.  If you are interested in becoming a part of our team as a regular or guest DT member please check out our blog for details. We'd love to have you - no DT experience necessary and all skill levels welcome :)

Happy Stamping!

LOC Challenge #8

Hello my Crafty Friends!

The new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges this time around is sponsored by Dilly Beans Stamps. I have many Dilly Bean images in my collection so I chose to work with Adrianna's Mask. I may have mentioned a time or two that I'm gong thru a crazy polka-dot phase and this image fits my mood perfectly with her polka-dot dress :)

The theme this week is to use embossing in your project, either dry or heat. I chose dry and used a cuttlebug folder. Once it was embossing I used the direct to paper technique and swiped my ink pad across my embossed panel until I got the coverage of color that I wanted.  I mounted the panel on a black CS base and then added Adrianna using some foam tape to pop her off the page. A cute little spider image and she's good to go.  I love how the bright blue and lime green coloring turned out.
Now hustle on over to Left of Center Challenges to join in the fun!

Skull Appreciation Day 2013

Do you know what day it is?!? Skull Appreciation Day, wahoo!  The fabulous gals over at Smeared and Smudged Forum have organized another hop for this year and I think it's the biggest one yet.

My first project is an ATC. The image I used is Anatomy 101-skull Front from Smeared Ink. I cut her out and layered onto a black CS base that I added dots to with a metallic sharpie. I also choose a light green ribbon for her to wear as a headband because what skull doesn't want to look pretty once in a while :)

For my second project I wanted to create a journal page. I do this every year for Skull Appreciation Day and it's always fun to look back. I used the skull again, just printed larger and cut her out.  I added her to my page that I used some glimmer mist on to add color and texture to the background. You can't really tell in the pic but I also used shimmer mist on the skull to make her sparkly.  Butterflies have been on my mind lately so I added a bunch to the page. I curved their wings so they would pop off the page a bit.  The quote I found while surfing the web.  "Life's true face is the skull." Nikos Kazantzakis

Thanks for stopping by, wishing you and your skull all the best on Skull Appreciation Day!

Here's the blog list, I hope you join in and hop along. Don't forget to leave a little love along the way, we all appreciate comments :)

LOC challenge #6

It's time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges. This weeks theme is red & black and our sponsor is LEJ Designs.  I've used the lovely Desire digi stamp that can be found in the Halloween section of the LEJ Designs online store.

I've colored her with pencils and sponged around the edge. Then I spritzed some glimmer mist to give her some sparkle.

Make sure to head over to the Left of Center Challenges Blog to join in the fun!

LOC Challenge #5

Hello my crafty friends! It's time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges, this weeks theme is to use a digi image. How easy is that?!?  Our sponsor this week is Delicious Doodles and I was so excited to pic out one of her images to play with.

This is Steampunk Sally, isn't she gorgeous?!? I found some really cool paper last week at Hobby Lobby and I just knew it would be perfect with this image.  I colored her with pencils using mostly brown tones with a splash of teal and reddish brown for her hair.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will play with us over at Left of Center Challenges this week!

Things with Wings

This weeks theme over at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenges was Things with Wings. Lately I've been drawn to all the butterfly cards as I check out crafters blogs, so I thought I'd dig out one of my hardly used butterfly stamps and join in the butterfly craze.

My stamp is from Inkadinkado. I stamped in cocoa ink on kraft SC and colored with pencils. I really like how the oranges and yellows look on the kraft colored paper. Then I cut it out and layered on more kraft paper that I dotted with some metallic sharpies and layered that on some cocoa CS.  The butterfly is popped off the ATC with foam tape.

LOC Challenge #4

Hello Friends,

It's time for another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.  This weeks sponsor is Lacy Sunshine. Somehow before this challenge I'd never heard of her or been by her shop, WHAT?!?! I had fun looking through and chose this fab image to play with Buggz and Lil Voodoo Bunny.

You have to stop by her shop to see what a wonderful selection of images she has.  I colored her with pencils and decided to create a journal page with her.  I used watercolor crayons to create  the background, then used a background stamp from Smeared Ink. Cut my lovely voodoo gal out and glued her onto the page. I spritzed some glimmer mist and wrote BAD onto the page. I love how the colors turned out. Of course the pic doesn't do it justice, I will have to try to snap a pic in the bright morning sun so ya'll get the full effect.
Head on over to Left of Center to join in the fun. If you like creating out of the norm then the challenge theme will always be anything goes. If you are more of a mainstream stamper you can still join the fun but you'll have to follow the theme. This week theme is to "bling it up".

LOC - challenge #3

Welcome back to another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.  Our sponsor for this round is Rick St. Dennis. I have a few of his images in my collection and I've chosen to use Night Flyer the Succubus.
I've colored her with pencils and fussy cut her out. Isn't she wicked hot?! I layered her on CS and my fave polka dot paper and added some bling.
If you join our challenge over at Left of Center and like to create projects that can be classified as steampunk, goth, punk, dark, horror, Halloween, anime or just plain creepy then the theme is always anything goes.  If you are more of a mainstream stamper we'd still love to have you join us you just need to follow the current theme.  This fortnights theme is fairly easy -  Ribbon and/or Twine. So what are you waiting for?! Head on over to Left of Center and join in the fun!

LOC - challenge #2

Welcome back for another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.  This week's theme is Punch It Out - border or other punch if you are more of a mainstream stamper.  Or if you are a risk taker and like to create things out of the norm the theme is always anything goes.
Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs. I got to work with this fabulous image called Ursula Pinup. I colored her with pencils and cut her out. On my journal page I used water color crayons for the background then used two stamps I had won a while back that look like bubbles. I added a strand of green sequins down the side and included a few lines of the song that Ursula sings in little mermaid.
I hope you will be able to join us at Left of Center Challenges this week.

Art Journal

Happy St. Patrick's Day.   It was a lazy day here so I thought I'd do some crafting.  This lovely image is from  Ike's Art. She was a freebie last year and I've finally gotten to use her.

I colored her with pencils and then cut her out.  My journal page is done with water color crayons - love them! I scribbled my colors down then I just used my finger and some water to blend everything until I was happy with it. I got a little too carried away with the drips and ended up dripping all over my clean dishes in the dish drainer....doh! I couldn't help but add the saucy little sentiment to go with this gal :)

LOC Challenge #1

Hello Friends!

I'm excited to be part of a brand new challenge blog called Left of Center Creative Challenges. This will be a bi-weekly challenge blog that allows/encourages all things Left of Center- Steampunk, Goth, Halloween (year-round), dark, spooky, creepy, anime, edgy, mythical (fairy tale,  mermaids, dragons, fairy, literary characters, fan art),  and horror, as well as regular mainstream crafters.

Each Challenge will have a theme, and as long as you project fits into one of the above Left of Center categories, you can follow it or not.  If you are more of a mainstream crafter, you must follow the Challenge theme.  It's a win-win for all!

This weeks theme is buttons and/or bows. Our fabulous sponsor this week is Floppy Latte Digital Designs and I was able to play with Guarding the Egg.  I colored her with pencils and then cut her out to place in my art journal.  My background was created with watercolor crayons.  I love how it turned out!  Then I stamped some little circles down the side, attached my dragon with her egg (that I added some glitter to) and some gems at the top of the page in a couple of the circles I had stamped. I used a metallic sharpie to add my sentiment, not so happy with how that part turned out so may try to figure out something to add at a later date.... maybe a cloud :)

We would love to have you join in our challenge and tell your friends too!

Celebrate the Season

This week over at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge the theme for challenge #71 is Celebrate the Season.  I've used this fab image from The Octopode Factory, I picked it up from her freebies last year and finally got around to using it.

I started with a black CS base and drew some swirls with a white gel pen.   I colored the potion with pencils and then added some more swirls with my gel pen. I cut it out and used foam tape to pop it up off the base. I cut the sentiment which also came with the image and attached it to the side like a tab slightly off the edge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Freaky Friday Challenge #61

It's time for more freaky fun over at Forever Night Creepy Challenges! This weeks challenge is 3-2-1.  We are asking that you use 3 embellishments, 2 images and 1 sentiment.

Our sponsor this week is Delicious Doodles and we had some wonderful images to play with.  I chose to use this Goth Guy, isn't he fangtabulous! My 3 embellishments are the 3 little black gems to the right of the image. My 2 images are the goth guy and that smudge stamp I used on the base CS. And my 1 sentiment is "believe".
The DT has some awesome samples for you to check out so head on over to our blog to join in on the fun this week. I can't wait to see what you create!
