CDAC Challenge #16

This sweet images from Just Some Lines was one of the freebies over at the Crafters Digital Art Center progressive challenge for this week.  I colored her with copics and used some papers from my stash.  I've been on a pink and black kick lately and when I saw this kitty I knew just what papers I wanted to use for her.

Toxic Teens part deux

Welcome back to day two of the Simply B Stamps Toxic Teens release on the Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls challenge blog. I was lucky enough to win a GDT spot and join in on the fun with these new images.  Today the final 4 images in this collection are being shared.  I choose to work with Rhi, isn't she fab?!

I colored her with copics. I don't have many so I wasn't able to do all that fancy blending and shading but I love how smoothly they go on the paper. I cut her out then used foam tape to attach to my card.  That cool skull paper is from an older Halloween pack from Target and the base CS is a pink color from my stash.  I added pink ribbon and another little stick pin I put together.  I used another skull bead and some other small purplish/pinkish beads.  The pin part was rather long so I twisted it up in a curl.  The puffy alpha letter are from making memories and they have a cool spider web pattern on them.

Make sure to check out Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls to see the other 3 images being released today and the awesome creations the DT has created for you.

Toxic Teens

For the next 2 days I get to join in the fun over at Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls as they preview the latest and greatest Simply B Stamps collection. There are 7 new images in this collection and trust me you are going to want them all! Today they are previewing the first 3 - Ty, Charlotte and Stewie. Betty had Ty on the blog as a freebie during Easter and I grabbed him fast.  You can see my card with him here.  Today I'm going to share a card I made with Stewie.
I colored him with pencils and fussy cut him out to attach with pop dots on dark cocoa CS that has been distressed around the edges.  I used my Cuttle Bug to emboss the background and then inked it up.  I wrapped the card with some twine and stuck on a little stick pin I made with a skull bead and some fuzzy ribbon.  All of that is mounted on a dark cocoa CS base.
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to check out Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls to see the rest of the release and make sure to stop by tomorrow to see what image I got to play with.
There is also and Altered Challenge going on over there too, with only 1 day left to join in, so check that out too!

April Showers

Hello Friends! I'm so excited to have the opportunity to join the DT over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges this week as a guest. For challenge #33 the theme is "April Showers" and we could add raindrops, rain clouds, umbrellas or anything rain themed on our projects. You'll notice I used several of these things :) This is Paprika, isn't she adorable!! She's one of many cute images available at the Little Miss Muffet Store. I also had some paper with clouds and I found some rain dots in my stash that I had bought a while back and never used.
I'm on a polka dot kick and thought Paprika's rain coat would look so cute with polka dots so I decided to try out the paper piecing technique. This is my second attempt at trying this and I am rather pleased with how it turned out. My first attempt several months ago was a disaster and I couldn't understand how anyone could do it, but I gave it another shot and I like it, yay!
What are you waiting for, hurry on over to the Challenge Blog and see what wonderful samples the DT has waiting for you then grab your supplies and join in the fun.

Seeing Stars

The current challenge over at Just Some Lines this week is Moon and Stars. I'm not sure if this card will count, but I couldn't resist this cute image while browsing thru their shop and I knew it would go perfectly with my new papers from CTMH.
She's holding a star and I used polka dot papers (little tiny moons?). I colored her with pencils and added some baker's twine and metal tab with the word 'fun' on it. Isn't she adorable with her little fishy friend?

I will also be entering this card into the following challenges:

Wicked Easter

For the Forever Night Challenges Wicked Hop please see post here, or just scroll down 2 posts :)

The current challenge at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls is to create a dark Easter project. I've used Ty the Bunnysaurus from SimplyBStamps. Ty was a freebie a little while ago so I'm not sure if he's still available :( He's rockin' the bunny/dino suit wouldn't you say?!

I've colored him with pencils in mostly grey with a splash of teal :) Then I fussy cut him out. I used my cuttlebug to create the background. The folder had the skulls to far apart for my linking (and my 4x4 fat page) so I ran the cardstock thru halfway then repositioned it in the folder and ran it thru the other half so I could squeeze more skulls on there :) Then I used the direct to paper technique first with black ink and that looked ok, but I figured since it was supposed to be Easter I needed a little more color so then I sponged ocean ink then rubbed all the edges on the ocean pad. I attached that to a black CS base and then used foam tape to add Ty. A couple gems on the corners and c'est fini! There's only one more day to join in the challenge so hurry on over to join in.

I will be entering the following challenges:
Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls - dark Easter project
Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude - challenge 11 anything goes / faces

Temptation

If you are looking for the Forever Nights blog hop it's the next post down, but while you're here check out this project. I used this stamp I got for playing along in a challenge last month at the Smeared & Smudged forum.

I printed out the image twice, on the second image I only colored the snake. I added liquid glass and waited (not so patiently) for it to dry. I used my cuttle bug to make the background and then swiped my black ink pad across the embossed card stock and attached it to a black card stock base. Once the liquid glass was dry I cut the snake out and I bent it to make it crackle. Then I attached it to the first image I had colored and cut out. I used foam tape to add the image to my fat page.

I will be entering this fat page into the following challenges:
Smudgy Antics - anything goes
Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude challenge 11 - anything goes/faces

Friday the 13th Wicked Blog Hop

Welcome to Forever Nights Wicked Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from Amie's blog, if not head back to the Forever Night Challenges Blog to see the full blog hop list and all the details.
This weeks Challenge is full of super wicked fun for all of us at Forever Night Challenges.
All of the Night Crew members have designed projects using Smeared Ink digital stamps.

For my card I selected the lovely Calaveras Bride. I colored her with pencils and added some black glitter for her eyes, nose and cheek and then put some liquid glass over the roses. To finish it off I added some black hemp and red beads.

Your next stop on the hop is Abbie and don't forget to submit a wicked creation of your own for a chance to win some great prizes from our sponsors!

EGGstatic!

This weeks challenge over at Smudgy Antics was to decorate an egg. I knew I wanted a skull image so I dug thru my stash and found this skull with fangs from After Midnight Art Stamps. I stamped it on pink tissue paper and then cut out to glue onto my wooden egg. Then I wanted to make a mosaic type pattern that didn't really turn out like I wanted, oh well. I used light pink and dark pink tissue paper. I added some ears and a little bunny tail.

Here's a side view so you can see his tail and my mosaic like pattern.
Thanks for visiting, I hope you have a eggs-ellent Easter :)

Challenge #31 - Silhouettes

The challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges is "Silhouettes". In the month of March they offered this cute little bunny as a freebie. All the DT samples are amazing but I was drawn to Trina's card. I loved the simple look of the craft paper but she made it so elegant with the white ribbon and pearls.

So I printed out the bunny on some craft paper and then dug thru my massive stash of papers for something I liked. I added stitch marks around the bunny and along the edge of the base card.
Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting!

The Bachelor

Hi, my name is Steph and I'm addicted to reality TV. One of the shows I always get sucked into even tho I say I'm never watching it again is The Bachelor, lets hope I can stick to my guns and avoid it next season. When I saw this image from Wonderstrange of course this sentiment came to mind.
I made this fat page for the Fat Pages with Attitude Challenge #10. Well actually I made it for their last challenge with the theme of "love" but I couldn't find my cord to get my pictures from my camera to the computer so I missed the deadline, fortunately the current challenge is "anything goes". :)

cute alert!

Hello Friends,
I'm not sure if its the sunshine, springtime or the birds tweeting out in the yard but I've been creating some projects more on the cute side lately :) I'm sure it's just a temporary illness lol.

The image is Girl Bunny Stamp from Stamping Dragon Designs she's of the challenge images from the Crafters Digital Art Center's group of Progressive Freebie Challenges. Isn't she sweet, she brings back memories of my grandma giving my sister and I a cute stuffed bunny every Easter. Beware there may be a few more cute cards up my sleeve :)
