Happy October 1st!! You know what that means right?!?!? It's time for the Smeared & Smudged Annual 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop! This is year 5 and I'm so excited to participate once again. You can find all the rules and info on this super fun hop over on Terra's blog. If you just happened upon my blog you'll want to head over there to check it out and start the hop from the beginning. If you get lost along the way I have the complete list of Wicked Bloggers over on my side bar. Not only will you be able to feast your eyes upon Halloween goodness all month long, you can win stuff too, how awesome is that?!?! Like I said before you can find all the deets on Terra's blog.
Now to my first project. My mom and I found these mini journals at the craft store a while back and we thought these would be great since sometimes we are intimidated by a giant journal page. So I decided to break it in on the Halloween Hop :)
Oh my gosh this size is perfect for a little bit of artsy fun! It's approximately 3ish" x 4ish". I started by gesso-ing the pages. Once dry I added some color with my water color crayons. These are so fun to play with when you want to create backgrounds. I used yellow and vermillion to get the orange color I wanted, after all what's Halloween without a little bit of orange. You just blend your scribbles with a wet paint brush and voila - a background!
Then I stamped in black directly on the pages (once dry) using a few of my older CTMH stamps. I added some dots with a metallic sharpie and added my journaling.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I promise I wont be so "wordy" the rest of the month, I know there are lots of stops for you all to make.
Next stop on the hop is Trisha....
