31 Days of Halloween - Day 22

We are almost to the end of this fabulous journey organized by Smeared & Smudged. For all the details and to see the daily winners head on over to Terra's blog.

This freaky little gnome was drawn by my friend Charina. I've been telling her for a while that she should use her awesome drawing talent to make some digi stamps. I asked for a zombie gnome and boom the next day she sends me this fab image!  I colored him with pencils and used some foam tape to pop him off my card. He's not wearing the traditional gnome colors, but he's a knife wielding zombie gnome so I wasn't about to argue with him.  The sentiment is from an older CTMH set in my stash.

I've made another journal page today, but in my larger water color paper journal. :)  I used water color crayons for the orange-ish background. Sentiment is from CTMH, background stamps are from Unity and of course the darling grumpie is from Smeared Ink.

I've seen so many inspiring fat pages on this hop I decided to make one for my own collection.

I started with a black CS base and my image is from Wonderstrange. I colored with pencils and lots of glitter. In fact I'm still waiting for those eyes to dry but I had to get my pic done so I could go to bed :)  I also added some white dots down the side with a gel pen.

Now go see what Anna has created for today.

Hello my creeptastic friends! Today is day 15 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. You can find all the info on the hop over on Terra's blog. She's posted a bunch of winners so if you've been playing along on the scavenger hunt hurry on over to see if you're a lucky winner.

I've been playing in my journal again, this time with Stumpie the Grumpie from Smeared Ink.  I made my page green on the bottom and blue on the top and my grumpie blue on the bottom and green on the top. I will also be entering this page into the current challenge over at Smudgy Antics. The theme is to only use Smeared Ink stamps. There is still plenty of time to join in the fun :)

Next stop on the hop is Anna.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 14

Yay, for a 3 day weekend! I'm lucky enough to have the day off on this 14th day of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  Just a reminder you can find the rules the hints and the previous days winners over on Terra's blog.

I've made an ACT today using an image from Wonderstrange Arts. You can find this skellie dude right here. I colored him with pencils, cut him out and used some foam tape to add him to the ATC. I have a black CS base then white CS that I embossed and went over with an ink pad and the swirl is from MFT. (I'm too tired to go digging thru my embossing folders at the moment, but I'll update later with the pattern)

Thanks for stopping by!
Next stop is Trisha   complete blog list is to the left in case you get lost.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 13

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! Today is day 13 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. To check out the rules or to see if you are winner on the daily scavenger hunt please head on over to Terra's blog.

For today's project I decided on another rolodex card, I'd forgotten how fun they are :) I covered it with gesso and used my watercolor crayons. After I blended with water I took  paper towel and dabbed off the extra water - I loved how the texture of the gesso showed better after taking some of the color away. On a separate piece of CS I stamped my skull from Inkadinkado and my sentiment from CTMH. I cut them out and added to the card. I stamped in pansy purple but it came out way darker than it usually does, but I like it anyway :) Then I used a purple metallic sharpie to add my dots around the edge.

Now head on over to see if Trisha has joined in the hop yet :)

Image is from Queen Kat Designs Stamp Co. I stamped her in black ink and colored with pencils. My background was made with 3 different sprays. Sentiment if from an older CTMH set.

31 Days - Day 11 & LOC #16

Happy Friday my friends! It's day 11 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. If this is the first you've heard of it you can find all the rules over on Terra's blog. I also have my DT project for Left of Center Challenges today.

First up is my 31 Days project and since it's Friday it's also Smeared Ink day. This was one of my first rubber purchases from Smeared Ink, way before I was into digi stamps. Unfortunately I searched the store and didn't find her for sale anymore so she must be one the retired sets. However there are many more awesome sets over there.
First I stamped her in lt grey in my mini journal so I could see where her face would be. Then I added my water color crayons, greenish where her face would be and orange-ish everywhere else. Then when that was dry I stamped her in black ink. I then got out my various colors of glitter and went to town. I added some sparkley spider stickers but the sparkle didn't really show up in the photo.

Over at Left of Center we have a new challenge starting that I know you can all join in on.  The theme is Halloween / black / orange ..... easy peasy for all you wicked bloggers and even the hoppers can grab their stamps and join in the fun.  Or if you like to create things out of the norm we always accept anything Left of Center :)  Our sponsor over there this time around is Limited Runs Digital Stamps. I got to play with Brad Nailed Zombie,

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get some stamping time in :)

Next stop on the hop.... Trisha.

Thank you all for the comments on my rolodex card, you can see more of mine here and here are some cool ones I found on Pinterest.

I only used the gesso on my card so it wouldn't get too warped, plus it adds some texture as well.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 10

Day 10 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop, can you believe it ?!?! All the rules and other fun info can be found on Terra's blog.  For today I made a rolodex card. It's been a while since I've made one to add to my collection :)   First I covered the card with gesso because I wanted to make my fun water color crayon background.

Then I stamped my images in black ink.  I added some gems to the hat band and stapled on a bit of ribbon.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 9

It's day 9 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. All the info can still be found here on Terra's blog.  :)
I'm back to creating in my journal today, mixing it up with a Dia De Los Muertos page.

I stamped my image from After Midnight Art Stamps.  The scribbled with my water color crayons and added some water to blend it all together. After it dried I added my border stamp from CTMH and colored her dress with pencils.

Short post today, it's been a crazy week at work already.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 8

It's day 8 already of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. For all the rules, clues and to find out if you've won something yet please head on over to Terra's blog.
I had my journal page all planned out and then as I was searching thru my messy stash I came across a stamp I totally forgot I had. So I decided to whip up a tag since the stamp was way too big for my journal :)

I started with a kraft tag and spritzed some glimmer mist then stamped my long lost skeleton stamp from Tim Holtz. The sentiment is from an older CTMH set. I added some ribbon and it's ready to go.  I really should craft more often I'm finding all sorts of neat stuff in my stash :)

31 Days of Halloween - Day 7

Welcome back my Halloween Loving Friends! Today is day 7 on the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. Rules and clues can be found on Terra's blog.  I was planning on getting a couple of projects done this weekend so I could relax a bit during the week, however I was glued to the TV watching season 3 of The Walking Dead since it finally was released on Netflix.  Now I'm so sad that I watched it all at once and its over :(  *sigh*  You will probably be seeing some zombies in the near future :)
For today's pages I glued down some book pages into my journal. The book shut and kinda got stuck at the center so when I pulled it apart it ripped so I decided to add a strip of washi tape to cove the ripped part.  Then I spritzed with some glimmer mist, I forget which colors maybe walnut and bronze? Then my mom stopped by with a Halloween present for me, the Tim Holtz mini blueprints set!!  Isn't she the BEST MOM EVER! So I used the gravestone stamped in black ink then I added some bats and the date using some of my CTMH stamp stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 6

It's day 6 of the 5th annual Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  I hope you are having as much fun as I am :)  Make sure your first stop is Terra's blog where you can find all the rules and the daily clues for the hunt.

Today's journal page started with an image from Queen Kat Designs.  I fell in love with this little Masked Chick. I stamped with black ink then colored with pencils. I stamped on scrap paper to create a mask so I could stamp my background stamps (CTMH) in orange ink. Then I sprayed with grape glimmer mist.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 4

Happy Friday! It's day 4 of the 5th annual Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop! Since it's Friday it's also Smeared Ink Day, woohoo!  What that means is you'll be seeing lots of creations using images from Smeared Ink.  I have used one of my favorite SI sets, Quoth The Raven.  It is only available now to the Rubber Club members under Past Offerings. Check out their store for more info.

Another one of my visions that was awesome in my head and not so much once I got it on paper, lol. Played with my water color crayons  to create the background (can you tell I LOVE this) Then I use cross hatch stamp for added texture. The skull I stamped on white CS, cut it out and then sponged with orange ink until it was dark enough for me. In case you haven't guessed, the skull is supposed to be a jack-o-lantern. I used some brown ribbon as the stump and some green wire for the vines.  Can ya kinda see it???  hehe  Oh then I doodled a little bit with a white gel pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by and all the wonderful comments that you've left. Don't forget if you need a refresher on the rules head over to Terra's blog, plus she has the daily hint for the scavenger hunt. Complete blog list is on the left if you get lost.

Next stop on the hop...  Trisha.

Welcome to day 3 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  Make sure to stop by Terra's blog for the hint of the day.

My journal page today didn't turn out like I had envisioned. I made my own cloud stencil but I think I should have made the sky darker.  Oh well, lots more days to play / practice :)  Sponged the sky, stamped and then colored with pencils.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 1

Happy October 1st!!  You know what that means right?!?!?  It's time for the Smeared & Smudged Annual 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop! This is year 5 and I'm so excited to participate once again. You can find all the rules and info on this super fun hop over on Terra's blog.   If you just happened upon my blog you'll want to head over there to check it out and start the hop from the beginning.  If you get lost along the way I have the complete list of Wicked Bloggers over on my side bar.  Not only will you be able to feast your eyes upon Halloween goodness all month long, you can win stuff too, how awesome is that?!?! Like I said before you can find all the deets on Terra's blog.

Now to my first project.  My mom and I found these mini journals at the craft store a while back and we thought these would be great since sometimes we are intimidated by a giant journal page.  So I decided to break it in on the Halloween Hop :)

Oh my gosh this size is perfect for a little bit of artsy fun!  It's approximately 3ish" x 4ish".  I started by gesso-ing the pages. Once dry I added some color with my water color crayons. These are so fun to play with when you want to create backgrounds. I used yellow and vermillion to get the orange color I wanted, after all what's Halloween without a little bit of orange.  You just blend your scribbles with a wet paint brush and voila - a background!

Then I stamped in black directly on the pages (once dry) using a few of my older CTMH stamps.  I added some dots with a metallic sharpie and added my journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I promise I wont be so "wordy" the rest of the month, I know there are lots of stops for you all to make.

Next stop on the hop is Trisha....

LOC Challenge #15

Welcome back my friends! We have a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges, this time around you need to include some element of water in your creations.
Our generous sponsor this week is Delicious Doodles and we all got to pick a mermaid to play with. :)  For my creation I've used Unchained Melody.

I've used colored pencils on my image and a couple shades of blue CS and blue ink to stamp my background.  I was hoping my circle stamps would represent bubbles :)
Please make sure to stop by the LOC blog to meet our newest DT members and to check out everyone's mermaid creations. Then grab your tamps and join in the fun!  Don't forget you can either follow the given theme or create something left of center.

LOC Challenge #14

Hello Friends! There were so many awesome entries for the last LOC challenge I hope you all join in again for this one :)  The theme for this weeks challenge is LOC or NO DESIGNER PAPER.  Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis and I chose to work with Angry Annie.

I've made a fat book page to showcase Annie and her anger :) Since part of the challenge is to not use DT I decided to make my own. I pulled a page from a book and stamped onto it.
Please join us over at Left of Center Challenges, I can't wait to see what you make :)

LOC Challenge #13

Good Morning my Crafty Friends! Its time for another challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.  This week our fab sponsor is Sassy Studio Designs. I chose to work with the Cowardly Lion Sassy.  Did you know that SSD also has a challenge blog, you should check that out too while visiting their shop.
I colored the not so cowardly lion with pencils and added her to a kraft CS base. I stamped my sentiment with dark cocoa ink and added a bow to match the one in her mane. We've got lots of changes going on over at LOC so please stop by for a visit and maybe join the team and stay awhile :)

LOC Challenge #12

This weeks sponsor over at Left of Center Challenges is Floppy Latte Digital Designs, and the challenge is to use something metal on your project.  I've used this image I've had for a while from Floppy Latte called Funky Floral VII.

This image is so pretty I wanted to keep the card design simple.  I colored with pencils then cut out to mount on cocoa colored CS onto a white CS base.  The metal I've used are the 3 antique gold studs on the bottom of the card.
This challenge is going to run for 3 weeks instead of the usual 2 so there are no excuses, you have plenty of time to join in the fun. Head on over to the LOC blog and check out the wonderful samples from the DT and get some inspiration to create your own card using the LOC theme or the challenge theme of something metal.

Bad to the Gills

It's time for another fun facebook challenge with Simply B Stamps. This month we able to choose Roxie the Good Mermaid or Spika the Bad Mermaid

This is Spika, I colored her with pencils and added some metallic scales to her fin and some purple glitter glue here and there. She was so fun to color!  You should go check out the new mermaid collection at SBS.

LOC Challenge #11

Welcome back my stamping friends! It's time for another challenge over at Left of Center Challenges this week.  Our sponsor this time around is the amazing Rick St. Dennis.  I grabbed this cute little freebie from his blog Sparkle and Glitter. Since our theme over at LOC is Christmas/Winter in July I turned this "Summer Fairy" into a Christmas Fairy.

I colored her with pencils and cut her out. I stamped some stars on my card and then popped her on top with some foam tape. I will also be adding this to his July Freebie Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, please visit LOC for fabulous samples from the DT using Rick's St. Dennis images and check out his Etsy store and his blogs, Sparkle and Glitter and  Airless Chambers.

LOC Challenge #10

Time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges. The theme this time around is to use polka dots and/or stripes. Or as always you can create something left of center and don't have to follow the theme.  Check out the blog or ask me if you have questions :)
Our fab sponsor this week is Limited Runs. I have several of her images and chose to use this Eyeball Cupcake from my stash.

I colored with pencils then fussy cut my cupcake out. I used a round CS base and sponged some color on.  I didn't feel like digging through my stash for a dot stamp so I used a pencil eraser :) This created my polka dots.  I used foam tape to pop my cupcake off the cake and taadaa.... a super cute cupcake card ;)

Now head on over to LOC to join in the fun and check out the awesome samples from the DT.

Summer the Fairy

It's time for another Simply Betty Stamps Facebook Fan Page Challenge.  This month we were asked to use Summer the Fairy and to create our own background.

I started with a round CS base and sponged, distressed and stamped to make my background. I colored her with pencils and added some glitter to her wings and dress.

Thanks for stopping by!

LOC Challenge #9

Hello my crafty friends!

It's time for another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges. Our sponsor this time around is Ike's Art.  She's has an amazing variety of images so I encourage you to check out her store and her blog.  I made a card with an old image of her's that I got ages ago as a Friday Freebie. I've had her colored up for a while now and figured it was the perfect time to add her to a card.

I colored with pencils and used gel pen for some accents.  The theme for this weeks challenge is to have a sentiment on the front so I've used some other stamps from my CTMH stash to complete my card.

Also happening over at LOC is a DT Call.  If you are interested in becoming a part of our team as a regular or guest DT member please check out our blog for details. We'd love to have you - no DT experience necessary and all skill levels welcome :)

Happy Stamping!

LOC Challenge #8

Hello my Crafty Friends!

The new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges this time around is sponsored by Dilly Beans Stamps. I have many Dilly Bean images in my collection so I chose to work with Adrianna's Mask. I may have mentioned a time or two that I'm gong thru a crazy polka-dot phase and this image fits my mood perfectly with her polka-dot dress :)

The theme this week is to use embossing in your project, either dry or heat. I chose dry and used a cuttlebug folder. Once it was embossing I used the direct to paper technique and swiped my ink pad across my embossed panel until I got the coverage of color that I wanted.  I mounted the panel on a black CS base and then added Adrianna using some foam tape to pop her off the page. A cute little spider image and she's good to go.  I love how the bright blue and lime green coloring turned out.
Now hustle on over to Left of Center Challenges to join in the fun!

SBS Challenge

The current (soon to be over) challenge at Simply B Stamps this past month was a color challenge.  We were provided with this gorgeous image and were asked to use only yellow, orange, white and black.
Thanks for stopping by and make sure to join in the fun at SBS for the next challenge. They are also celebrating the 3rd Birthday of SBS so there are a few fun challenges already happening for June.

Skull Appreciation Day 2013

Do you know what day it is?!? Skull Appreciation Day, wahoo!  The fabulous gals over at Smeared and Smudged Forum have organized another hop for this year and I think it's the biggest one yet.

My first project is an ATC. The image I used is Anatomy 101-skull Front from Smeared Ink. I cut her out and layered onto a black CS base that I added dots to with a metallic sharpie. I also choose a light green ribbon for her to wear as a headband because what skull doesn't want to look pretty once in a while :)

For my second project I wanted to create a journal page. I do this every year for Skull Appreciation Day and it's always fun to look back. I used the skull again, just printed larger and cut her out.  I added her to my page that I used some glimmer mist on to add color and texture to the background. You can't really tell in the pic but I also used shimmer mist on the skull to make her sparkly.  Butterflies have been on my mind lately so I added a bunch to the page. I curved their wings so they would pop off the page a bit.  The quote I found while surfing the web.  "Life's true face is the skull." Nikos Kazantzakis

Thanks for stopping by, wishing you and your skull all the best on Skull Appreciation Day!

Here's the blog list, I hope you join in and hop along. Don't forget to leave a little love along the way, we all appreciate comments :)

LOC challenge #6

It's time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges. This weeks theme is red & black and our sponsor is LEJ Designs.  I've used the lovely Desire digi stamp that can be found in the Halloween section of the LEJ Designs online store.

I've colored her with pencils and sponged around the edge. Then I spritzed some glimmer mist to give her some sparkle.

Make sure to head over to the Left of Center Challenges Blog to join in the fun!

LOC Challenge #5

Hello my crafty friends! It's time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges, this weeks theme is to use a digi image. How easy is that?!?  Our sponsor this week is Delicious Doodles and I was so excited to pic out one of her images to play with.

This is Steampunk Sally, isn't she gorgeous?!? I found some really cool paper last week at Hobby Lobby and I just knew it would be perfect with this image.  I colored her with pencils using mostly brown tones with a splash of teal and reddish brown for her hair.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will play with us over at Left of Center Challenges this week!

Things with Wings

This weeks theme over at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenges was Things with Wings. Lately I've been drawn to all the butterfly cards as I check out crafters blogs, so I thought I'd dig out one of my hardly used butterfly stamps and join in the butterfly craze.

My stamp is from Inkadinkado. I stamped in cocoa ink on kraft SC and colored with pencils. I really like how the oranges and yellows look on the kraft colored paper. Then I cut it out and layered on more kraft paper that I dotted with some metallic sharpies and layered that on some cocoa CS.  The butterfly is popped off the ATC with foam tape.

LOC Challenge #4

Hello Friends,

It's time for another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.  This weeks sponsor is Lacy Sunshine. Somehow before this challenge I'd never heard of her or been by her shop, WHAT?!?! I had fun looking through and chose this fab image to play with Buggz and Lil Voodoo Bunny.

You have to stop by her shop to see what a wonderful selection of images she has.  I colored her with pencils and decided to create a journal page with her.  I used watercolor crayons to create  the background, then used a background stamp from Smeared Ink. Cut my lovely voodoo gal out and glued her onto the page. I spritzed some glimmer mist and wrote BAD onto the page. I love how the colors turned out. Of course the pic doesn't do it justice, I will have to try to snap a pic in the bright morning sun so ya'll get the full effect.
Head on over to Left of Center to join in the fun. If you like creating out of the norm then the challenge theme will always be anything goes. If you are more of a mainstream stamper you can still join the fun but you'll have to follow the theme. This week theme is to "bling it up".

LOC - challenge #3

Welcome back to another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.  Our sponsor for this round is Rick St. Dennis. I have a few of his images in my collection and I've chosen to use Night Flyer the Succubus.
I've colored her with pencils and fussy cut her out. Isn't she wicked hot?! I layered her on CS and my fave polka dot paper and added some bling.
If you join our challenge over at Left of Center and like to create projects that can be classified as steampunk, goth, punk, dark, horror, Halloween, anime or just plain creepy then the theme is always anything goes.  If you are more of a mainstream stamper we'd still love to have you join us you just need to follow the current theme.  This fortnights theme is fairly easy -  Ribbon and/or Twine. So what are you waiting for?! Head on over to Left of Center and join in the fun!

LOC - challenge #2

Welcome back for another fun challenge over at Left of Center Challenges.  This week's theme is Punch It Out - border or other punch if you are more of a mainstream stamper.  Or if you are a risk taker and like to create things out of the norm the theme is always anything goes.
Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs. I got to work with this fabulous image called Ursula Pinup. I colored her with pencils and cut her out. On my journal page I used water color crayons for the background then used two stamps I had won a while back that look like bubbles. I added a strand of green sequins down the side and included a few lines of the song that Ursula sings in little mermaid.
I hope you will be able to join us at Left of Center Challenges this week.

Art Journal

Happy St. Patrick's Day.   It was a lazy day here so I thought I'd do some crafting.  This lovely image is from  Ike's Art. She was a freebie last year and I've finally gotten to use her.

I colored her with pencils and then cut her out.  My journal page is done with water color crayons - love them! I scribbled my colors down then I just used my finger and some water to blend everything until I was happy with it. I got a little too carried away with the drips and ended up dripping all over my clean dishes in the dish drainer....doh! I couldn't help but add the saucy little sentiment to go with this gal :)

LOC Challenge #1

Hello Friends!

I'm excited to be part of a brand new challenge blog called Left of Center Creative Challenges. This will be a bi-weekly challenge blog that allows/encourages all things Left of Center- Steampunk, Goth, Halloween (year-round), dark, spooky, creepy, anime, edgy, mythical (fairy tale,  mermaids, dragons, fairy, literary characters, fan art),  and horror, as well as regular mainstream crafters.

Each Challenge will have a theme, and as long as you project fits into one of the above Left of Center categories, you can follow it or not.  If you are more of a mainstream crafter, you must follow the Challenge theme.  It's a win-win for all!

This weeks theme is buttons and/or bows. Our fabulous sponsor this week is Floppy Latte Digital Designs and I was able to play with Guarding the Egg.  I colored her with pencils and then cut her out to place in my art journal.  My background was created with watercolor crayons.  I love how it turned out!  Then I stamped some little circles down the side, attached my dragon with her egg (that I added some glitter to) and some gems at the top of the page in a couple of the circles I had stamped. I used a metallic sharpie to add my sentiment, not so happy with how that part turned out so may try to figure out something to add at a later date.... maybe a cloud :)

We would love to have you join in our challenge and tell your friends too!

Celebrate the Season

This week over at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge the theme for challenge #71 is Celebrate the Season.  I've used this fab image from The Octopode Factory, I picked it up from her freebies last year and finally got around to using it.

I started with a black CS base and drew some swirls with a white gel pen.   I colored the potion with pencils and then added some more swirls with my gel pen. I cut it out and used foam tape to pop it up off the base. I cut the sentiment which also came with the image and attached it to the side like a tab slightly off the edge.

Thanks for stopping by!
