LOC #74 - tag or ATC

Hello Friends! This week's challenge over at Left of Center Challenges is to create a tag or ATC.  Of your you may always do anything goes as long as your item fits one of the LOC categories.

Our sponsor this week is Smeared Ink.  I've used one of the images from Danse Macabre which is an unmouted rubber set.

I started with a piece of chipboard and cut the two top corners off to make it a tag shape.  Next I covered it with white gesso.  I made sure to leave lots of texture.  Once that was dry I sprayed black spray over the Tim Holtz Cargo stencil.  Then I sprayed some blue and then green and then a more brighter blue.  I actually put my sprays away already but if you would like to know the actual colors leave me a message and I will let you know.  I stamped my dancing skeleton in black ink on white CS and fussy cut it out then attached to the tag.  I know the tag looks a little plain but I'm so in love with how the background turned out I didn't want to cover it up :)

What are you waiting for?!? Head over to LOC to see what amazing creations the DT have made and join in the fun.

LOC #59 - Black Christmas

Hello Friends! Today begins a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges with the theme Black Christmas. We have two awesome sponsors this time around, Delicious Doodles and Smeared Ink.  I have used Watchful Eye from Smeared Ink for my card.

After coloring him with pencils I've layered him on DP from the Paper Studio (Deck the Halls with Chalk paper pack) and CS from my stash.

Please check out all the amazing creations the DT have made at LOC and join in the fun with your own creepy Christmas cards.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 31 & LOC #52

It's day 31 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween blog Hop.  Please visit the Smeared and Smudged blog for the daily clues and all the rules to  qualify for prizes and to find out about the daily winners.

This month just flew by, I wanted to say thank you once again to all of you who have been visiting and leaving such wonderful comments each and every day.  We had the largest number of participants ever for the 31 days and there are so many amazing projects. I've really enjoyed this year, altho I'm happy that I will be able to go to bed earlier next month :)

For my last project for the 31 Days of Halloween Hop I have made a card using Back Bend - Toxic Ballerina from Smeared Ink.

It's also time for a new challenge over at Left of Center Challenges and our sponsor happens to be Smeared Ink!  The theme for this week is Vintage Halloween.  Plus there are still a few more days to get your entry in for the DT call at LOC.  I've you've had fun on this 31 Days Hop, imagine the fun you'll have creating these types of projects all year long!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 27

It's day 27 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween blog Hop.  Please visit the Smeared and Smudged blog for the daily clues and all the rules to  qualify for prizes and to find out about the daily winners.

I have used Calypso from Smeared Ink. Many years ago I had a pet rat, Cleo, and she was the smartest rat ever.  So I colored Calypso to look like my Cleo.  I've added a hat that I cut out from a printed designer paper because even rats love Halloween and like to get in on the fun.

This is a 4x4 fat page on a black cardstock base.  Papers are from my stash. You can't really see in the photo but I've added liquid glass to her eyes.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 25

It's day 25 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween blog Hop.  Please visit the Smeared and Smudged blog for the daily clues and all the rules to  qualify for prizes and to find out about the daily winners.

I have a quick rolodex card for you today as I've got lots to do and I'm running out of time :)  I have used the lovely Smeared Ink raven from Quoth The Raven, the tree and fence are from an older CTMH set.

I sponged the night sky in various shaded of blue. I attempted to highlight my tree with with gel pen but failed so ended up doodling all over it instead.  Then I doodle some more on the raven with purple gal pen.  I added drops of glitter to the sky to act as stars and when I thought they were dry I flipped the card over to stamp the date on the back and when I flipped it back to the front all my stars were smooshed....sigh  so they look bigger than they were supposed to so now they look like rain drops to me...  but I still like it. You can't really tell from the photo but they do sparkle.

I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  First of all it's Friday so that means it's Smeared Ink Day!

I have used Masquerade 1 and colored her with pencils. Then I added some glitter and once dry cut her out.  The paper is from my stash. (I think she's no longer available)

My second make for today is my DT card for Left of Center Challenges.  This week our sponsor is Limited Runs and our theme is Halloween.  I have used Brad Nailed Zombie and colored him with pencils.

We are also having a DT call over at Left of Center, if you are having a blast with the 31 days hop .then you should seriously consider joining our friendly little group, We love all things Halloween, steampunk, goth, dark, horror and creepy all year long!  The call is open until November 2nd so hurry on over and see what you need to do to apply.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 17

It's day 17 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween blog Hop, and it's Friday!  You know what that means - Smeared Ink day on the hop :)  Please visit the Smeared and Smudged blog for the daily clues and all the rules to  qualify for prizes and to find out about the daily winners.

I've made another rolodex card today.  I covered it in gesso (yesterday) and today I scribbled on it with my watercolor crayons.  I used a small paint brush to add water until I was happy with the background. I was so happy with it I wanted to squeal. I've used Black Widow digi from Smeared Ink and colored her with pencils. I used foam tape behind her body so she's popped up a bit. A strip of washi tape and a quick stamp of beware up in the corner and I'm done.  Oh and I added a bit of black gel pen on the legs and around the edge of the body.

For my 31 Days project today I have made an ATC using Anatomy 101 Skull from Smeared Ink.

I've used a Tim Holtx stencil to create the background and my beware is from an older CTMH set.

I am also sharing my Left of Center Challenges DT project today. Our sponsor over at LOC this week is Ike's Art and I've used Pumpkin Fairy to create my journal page. I colored her with pencils and added glitter to her wings. The background was created with gesso and green spray. I just kept adding a little of each and mixing it over the page until I was happy with the color and texture.  The bats are from an older CTMH set.

Smudgefest Day 7 - Synonymous Sunday

It's the last day of the Smudgefest over at Smeared and Smudged, I've had a blast creating everyday.  For today's challenge they gave a Smeared Ink image to play with, Mary.

I've colored her with pencils and fussy cut her out to layer on my card.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you've enjoyed Smudgefest as much as I have.  Happy creating!

Smudgefest Day 6 - Saturday Splatter

Only a couple more days of Smudgefest 2014 at Smeared and Smudged :(  Today's challenge is Saturday Splatter - we get to have some messy fun!  I've been pretty messy all week long and it's been so awesome!

For this project I started with a piece of chipboard and cut it into a giant tag shape. I smeared some gesso on it to create a textured background. Then (when it was nearly dry) I used about 7 different color glimmer mists until I achieved the back ground I wanted. While that part was drying I colored Luna from the Women of Power set at Smeared Ink. I attached her with foam tape and then added a few gems, glitter and ribbons with some bones from my stash. I love how this turned out and the picture just doesn't do it justice. I may have to add another pic in the morning when I can shoot it outside in the natural light.

Smudgefest Day 5 - Flight of Fancy

It's day 5 of the Smudgefest at Smeared and Smudged and I'm having a blast, but I'm beyond tired from so many late nights stamping.  Next year I really have to take some vacation days during Smudgefest :)  So this is going to be a quick post for day 5.  The challenge theme for today is Flight of Fancy and they asked for a project that features wings.

I've used Succubus 5 from Smeared Ink.  I've colored her with pencils and cut her out to add to my mini journal page.  I wanted to create a night sky for her to be looking out upon.
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to join in the fun at Smeared and Smudged, there are still fabulous prizes to be won!

Smudgefest Day 4 - Toil and Trouble

It's day 4 of the Smudgefest over at Smeared and Smudged. Today's challenge theme is Toil and Trouble. We had to pick at least 3 of the potions from the cauldron.

Lots to choose from, but then you have to decide how to make them all work together.  For this challenge I decided to work in my mini-journal. This is the perfect size journal to play with :)  Both the pages together give you a play area of about 5.5" x 4.25".

I started with misting the pages with mint green spray. I guess I didn't shake it well enough cause I didn't get the glittery sparkle that I got yesterday when I used it on my peacock page. Then I used a stencil and brushed over it with black ink.  Well the ink looks more grey....
so I did the direct to paper technique around the edges with the black ink pad and then also stamped my word "listen" in black ink.  My image is Tattoo Fairy Plain from Smeared Ink.  I colored her with pencils and gave her silver hair (my metal?) and a silver edge to her wings. Just in case I also added a metal brad that has a layer of glitter on it.  I also added some green glitter glue to her wings.

Smudgefest Day 3 - Wicked Wednesday

It's day 3 of the Smeared and Smudged Smudgefest. Today's challenge is Wicked Wednesday and they gave us a photo inspiration.

I chose to pull a few bits of inspiration from this photo.  First off I wanted feathers, so lucky for me I have The Symbology of Angels set from Smeared Ink. I used Vanity Angel, not only does he have fabulous wings he also appears to be strutting....which is what peacocks love to do.  I also loved the colors so I've used several sprays to create the background. I found a random feather stamp in my stash (I think from Comotion - anyone remember that company?) and I stamped that all over the background as well.

Smudgefest Day 2 - Terrifying Tuesday

Welcome back for day 2 of Smudgefest at Smeared and Smudged.  You still have time to join in the fun, there are prizes everyday!!  For day 2 the challenge is to create a project showcasing your favorite image. Well I have so many favorite Smeared Ink images it was hard to choose.  I finally decided on one of the Zombie Pinups - Shy.

I've made a journal page to showcase this image. I've used glimmer mist sprays to create the background. To me it almost looks like rotting flesh, but when I asked my son he couldn't see it. He said "well maybe sunburned flesh"   ug boys!  Anyway I'm happy with my fleshy page and my Shy zombie.... what could be more terrifying than a beautiful woman who turns into a zombie when you least expect it?!?

Smudgefest Day 1 - Mixed Media Monday

Hello my friends!  Today is the first day of Smudgefest 2014, it's the 4th annual week-long challenge and I'm so exited to play along this year.  Check out Smeared and Smudged for more info on this super fun challenge. The first challenge this year is to use at least 3 coloring mediums on your project.  I've decided to create a journal page and here are the items I have used.

After gesso-ing my page I started spraying with my distress marker spritzer. Then I used my ink pad around the edge of the page then I sprayed some dylusions sprays (and a wet paintbrush) to get the drips down the page.  I used my colored pencils to color my Toxic Ballerina from Smeared Ink.

I added a bit of washi tape and added my ballerina to the page with some foam tape.  This wasn't the page that I had planned in  my head but I'm happy with how it turned out AND I got to have some messy fun!  Head on over to Smeared and Smudged to check out all the entries and join in the fun!

LOC #29 - Anything Goes - Dark Themed

Hello my crafty friends! It's time for a new challenge at Left of Center Challenges, the theme this time around is 'Anything Goes' however it must be dark. I have made an ATC with this lovely back-bend toxic ballerina from Smeared Ink.

I have colored her with pencils and cut her out and attached with foam tape to my ATC base. I made the flower from old book pages and then spritzed with a couple different shades of glimmer mist. I attached a skull bead to a hat pin so it could pierce my dancers heart.  I'd say that qualifies as dark :)
For some reason as I was coloring my ballerina it reminded me of a book I read last year, Swan Song. There was no ballerina so it must be the face mask that set my mind a wandering as I colored. The story is similar to The Stand by Stephen King so if you liked that one you'll get drawn into this one too.
Now head on over to Left of Center Challenges and let your dark side loose and create some spectacular and share it with us at Left of Center

Hearts & Harlequins

Hello friends! There is a fun challenge (and DT call) happening now over on the PunkYouGirl Challenge Blog. But you'll have to move fast to get on this challenge and DT call as it ends today.  The theme for the challenge is Hearts & Harlequins, so of course I had to use my favorite heart stamp from Smeared Ink :)

I created the background with the help of my Cuttlebug and the sentiment I wrote out on scraps of paper and cut down. Thanks for visiting my blog to check out my creation and taking the time to consider me for the Design Team.

Happy Crafting!

31 Days of Halloween Day 25 and LOC #17

Hello my freaky friends :) I have a couple projects to show today so I won't be too chatty. First up is the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. Check out all the details on Terra's blog.  It's Friday so you know what that means right?!?!?  It's Smeared Ink day!

I made a project and then realized it was SI day so had to think of something quick. I decided to play in my mini journal again.

I used my fabulous Poe stamp. Then I knew I wanted to use my sprays and a stencil but didn't feel like cutting out a mask, I know I'm lazy. So I decided to just use my rubber stamp as a mask, which resulted in a ghost like shadow around Poe. First I sprayed with Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist, then I added my stencil and sprayed my Black Marble Dylusions. A quick but fun page.

Next up is my DT project for Left of Center Challenges. The theme is Halloween / Creepy. Easy peasy if you are already playing along with this hop.  The sponsor for this challenge is Rick St. Dennis. (Who is also one of the sponsors for the 31 Days hop). I got to play with Mr. Shadows.

I colored him with pencils then fussy cut him out to add to my card. The papers are from last years Halloween stash.  Rick has also opened up a shop on Zibbet, you've got to check out all the images he has available!

Well that was way more chatty then I figured.  Next stop is Anna.

Happy Friday!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 24

Hello again! It's day 24 of the 5th annual Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop, check out all the details on Terra's blog.

I've made a card today with Succubus 5 from Smeared Ink.   The way she was sitting reminded me of a gargoyle so I colored her silvery grey so she might look like stone. :)

Sorry for the short post today, I'm exhausted.

Next stop Anna.

Thanks for stopping by!
