I have a quick little ATC for you today. This lovely image is from a company that is no longer open,  Queen Kat Designs.

I've colored this bat with pencils, added some green glitter to the eye and then some liquid glass to make the eye pop out. Paper is from my stash.

QKDs 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop Day 10

Welcome back! Todays theme for the QKD Blog Hop is Labels.  I've chosen this fab Elixir label. I stamped in cocoa ink on kraft paper, then cut out.  I mounted onto black CS and cut that out to shape also.  The testure paper may look familiar, I used it a couple of days ago on an ATC.  I mounted that onto black CS also and then onto the kraft CS base.

I added a shimmery brown ribbon and a pin I made with beads from my stash.   Please make sure to visit all the blogs on the hop and leave everyone a bit of love, we all appreciate comments.

QKD's 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop Day 9

Welcome to day 9 of QKD's blog hop! Today's theme is cute.  The first time I saw this stamp I knew I just had to have it.  Masked Chick from Sandra Caldwell. You can find this one and many more cute stamps at the QKD Store.

I colored her with pencils and added some glitter to her mask. She's the perfect size for an ATC! I fussy cut her out and mounted onto some fun dot paper from Michael's.  The sentiment is from CTMH.

QKD 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of the QKD Halloween Blog Hop.  Today's theme is flowers.  I've used this lovely image from Monica N Galvan's Visions Collection called Masquerade Fairy, you can find her at the QKD Store.

I've colored her with pencils and added a little bit of everything else.  I made the flowers from patterned paper and a die from MFT.  I used black glitter glue in each of the flowers and regular glitter glue on her wings. Also some gel pen on her mask and trim of her dress.  The background was spritzed with purple glimmer mist and the flowers with white glimmer mist.  I made the stick pin with beads from my stash.  I had a lot of fun with this creation.

QKD 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop Day 4

Hello friends and welcome back to the 13 Days of Halloween QKD Blog Hop.  Today's theme is spooky.  I used an image Isabella from Kathy Cyr.  I got her a while back because she looked so sweet but sad.  As I was pulling my idea together for my project I had a flash of brilliance (I think) I planned on making an ATC and this image is the perfect size, but with a theme of spooky how was I going to make this sweet little fairy work?  Well at first I thought maybe she got stuck in the web and was so sad and needed help, but then I decided she didn't really get stuck.  It's all a trick! She's luring you into helping her and then her spider friends attack!  Pretty spooky eh?

I have really bad lighting in my house :( So I've been scanning my projects, well this one with so much lighter colors really gets blown out. I also took one with my camera but because of the bad lighting I have to be careful or the flash goes off and then it really gets blown out....ug!

So I've included both.  The scan so you can get an idea of the layout/design and the second camera shot which is a bit blurry but you can tell she actually has some color to her.

QKD 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop Day 3

Welcome back to day 3 of QKD's 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  The theme for today is purple. I've used this lovely image Orchid designed by Kathy Cyr. She can be found at the QKD store along with many other fabulous images.

I've colored her in various shades of purple with my pencils and used foam tape to layer her on some purple paper from my stash.  All on a black CS base.  I wanted to add glitter to the wings but knew she would never dry in time to be scanned for the hop.   So check back I may go ahead and do that and take another photo to add :) In the meantime make sure to visit all the blogs on the hop and leave all the artists some love, plus there is a special message on the QKD Blog that you won't want to miss.

Little Red

I'm cutting it close to get in on this month's challenge over at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls. The theme for Challenge #8 is Fairy Tales but to give it a twist. I think this image from Queen Kat Design's is a bit twisted all by itself :)

Red has got her evil eye looking about and opps, she dropped some skulls out of her basket. Just what is it Red and her grandma do off in that lonely cottage in the woods? hmmmm.....
This little project is a fat page (my newest addiction). All the flower bling are the same color but the scan made that bottom one look a bit yellow. Red has placed a drop of blood in the center of each flower to creep you out some more, ok it's really just liquid pearls but still.....
I will also be entering this over at Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude, this weeks theme for Challenge #7 is Anything Goes/Bling.

QKD Challenge March week 2

For the 2nd week of March we had a sketch challenge over on QKD. Here's the sketch...

And here's my take on the sketch. The papers are from CTMH and I used one of the girls from the Deadling sets from QKD in the creepie cuties collection. I stamped her with chocolate ink and then colored her in with pencils.

QKD Triple Tiara Tuesday Challenge

The challenge for week 4 over at QKD for the 3T challenge was a photo inspiration from Crate and Barrel.

I decided to make a flower pot shaped card and to use the blues and purples from the image.

I started with bamboo CS with the fold at the top and cut to the shape of a flower pot. Swiped all around the edges with Chocolate ink then sponged in Ocean ink. Used one of my new QK images from the Creepie Cuties collection, she's called Butterfly Fairy. Colored her with pencils and attached to some purple CS, added my ribbon and flower. Felt it was missing something so went through my stamps and decided on this sentiment from one of my CTMH sets.

QKD Triple Tiara Tuesday Challenge

The February 3T challenge for week two over on Queen Kat Desigsns blog was a sketch challenge.

Here's my take on the sketch. I used the Bryn & Tup image from the Fantasy Art of Maigan Lynn collection at Queen Kat Designs.

I stamped Bryn & Tup in black ink and colored with pencils and cut them out. Starting with a white card base I layered Holiday Red CS then added the black texture paper from My Mind's Eye (which I've been using lots of and I only bought one sheet.....ack I'm almost out!) I added Bryn & Tup but then wasn't sure what to do about the circle part of the sketch. I decided on some paper flowers and stamped some hearts and swirls on the larger white flower to go back to the little hearts that Bryn has on her dress. Added a small pink flower and pearl brad for the center. Then after attaching to card I chopped the petals that were hanging off the side. Last step was to add some hand drawn stitching around the edge of the card.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 5

Welcome to day 5 of the Smeared and Smudged blog hop! For todays card I chose a fabulous stamp by Queen Kat Designs from the Creepie Cuties collection. I colored her using pencils in the traditional red and green. Mounted her on red CS and then on some holiday texture paper. Before putting all the peices together I thought the white CS looked too stark so I sponged around her and the white card base using bamboo ink. I think her and her cookie stealing dragon work really well as a Christmas stamp :) I was too lazy to dig through my alpha stamps so I hand wrote the sentiment.
