layouts

Here's some of the layouts I've created recently. Last weekend I went to my friends house to scrap and got several pages done. In order to catch up I figure I'm going to use the stock pile of kits I have. You can tell how far behind I am since these were from the first day of kinder. I do still have to journal, but at least I've got the pictures attached to the pages :)
We also went to the Wildlife Museum that year so here are a few of those pictures. I really like the one by the fountain, even tho he was cranky at that moment the picture came out really nice .

Way Behind

Wow, it's been too long since I've posted. Lots has gone on and I'm not sure how I can ever catch up. Let's see....October was the little mans b-day so we went up to Mt. Lemmon. It was beautiful, I'll have to find my pictures. Then was Halloween, but Jake decided he would rather stay home and watch movies then go trick or treating. November was Thanksgiving and we had a nice time at Uncle Bob's and Aunt Renee's house. Here's a cute pic of Jake outside with all the men.
Then in December we started off with a karate tournament. My karate kid did extremely well and came home with 3 first place, 1 second place and 2 third place trophies. I still have to get a picture with all of them, but here's him bringing one back to where we were waiting for him.

We also had the ceremony where Jacob has earned his green belt. We are all so proud of this little man. Here he is giong up to get his new belt and certificate.

He also got a certificate from the Young Champions for moving up to green belt. This also means longer classes, I've been getting lots of reading done while waiting for class to finish :)

atc fun

Wanted to play a bit so made a couple ATC's. Just got the ironwork texture stamp and the skull at the rubber stamp show last month and have been wanting to try them out. I used my glaze pens on the skull but you can't see it too well in the picture. The other 2 Halloween stamps are retired from CTMH.

world card making day Oct 4th

The top 2 cards were made on world card making day. Wanted to make sure I had some fun stamping this weekend after a very stressful week at work. The last 2 cards were done previously, but I hadn't gotten around to posting. :)

my karate kid

After a match of high-stakes bribery I convinced my child that he should take karate classes. I had to remind him how he never wanted to do the swim classes and now he loves swim. Well let me tell you after the first class he loved it! Now we are 4 weeks in and he wantes me to help him practice practically every night. We had class last night and I'll try to put up an action photo soon.

quick card

OK, maybe it wasn't so quick since it also involved a trip to the scrapbook store. You would think that somewhere in my vast collection of goodies I would have something related to wedding or brides, but no such luck. Absolutely adored the paper when I saw it. I still have a big chunk left for the next shower I'm invited to :)

techniques 21 & 24

Here's 2 more fun techniques. The first one uses glaze pen, transparencies and paint. The second is paint stamping with things found around the house. I used a cardboard tube, the top of a dry wall screw and a lego. I had to promise my son that his legos would not be ruined if I used them with paint... finally he agreed to let me use them :)

my dolphin

Can't believe that I don't have a picture to go with this...but my all star swimmer has been moved on to the dolphin class. Only 4 lessons at the bluegill level. It probable was due to the fact that the other 2 kids never showed up for class so he got private lessons at the regular class price for me...woohoo! Will definately be taking pictures the next class!

some more techniques

These are still from the awesome online class I'm taking. Only one more week left and I have a TON to do! yikes!!

Monday, August 18, 2008

Here are a couple techniques from the on-line class I'm taking. I'm WAY behind so I've been busy trying to catch up before the class is done. I did about 4 more today, but need to get them shot so I can post them.
Happy Creating!

friend's b-day

Got some crafting done the other night. Made card and photo album gifts for a friend at work. They have these great little albums at Target. They have covers that are different colors, but you can also slide these covers out to decorate however you like! Forgot to take pictures of the backs but used coordinating paper. Way fun and didn't take too much time. I'm gonna have to stock up on these albums. Not too happy with the card, but I did that last so my creative juices were all used up. Got lots more b-days coming up so I'll have more art/gifts to post soon!

Here's an awesome technique I just learned. Printing your photos on a transparency and layering over texture paper.

vacation pics

Here are some pictures from our trip to the White Mountains. The first one is in the woods behind the cabin where we stayed. Yes my son is holding a plunger...that was in case we ran into any bears he was going to protect us with that :) The next is Jacob at Hawley Lake. He wasn't in the mood for pictures this day, you may be able to tell from the smirk on his face. Next is a couple of squirrels that were keeping an eye on us. There are 3 in the photo...can you find them? The last pic is also Hawley Lake...what can I say...it's beautiful!

total slacker

That's what I am. So much to do and I always seem to run short on time. Still working on my techniques and some other miscellaneous crafty stuff. Getting ready to go on vacation, wanting to clean up the house before I go, still in process of re-organizing my life. *sigh* If anyone knows where I can purchase some more time let me know. ~moi

techniques 1 thru 3

Here are the first 3 techniques from the BPS online class Im' taking. It's sooo much fun, but I'm already behind. It's been just too hot here to do anything after I get home from work. I'm hoping to catch up some on this 3 day weekend.
The top card is clear embossing with acrlic paint. The second is a mosaic using scraps. I have lots of those that I can't seem to throw away so I'm sure I'll be using this technique quite a bit. The third is using flowers from B&T paper, you cut them out and curl to make 3-d elements. Way cute! Why didn't I ever think of that before.
